Degree requirements

French specialists are required to take French 3010, 3040, 3080, one course
from the following group: French 3050, 3060, 3110, 3070, and two 4000-level
literature courses. French 3010 is a prerequisite for French 3050, 3060, and
3080. French 3080 is a prerequisite for the 4000-level literature courses.
Native speakers of French will substitute French 3110, or an additional 4000-level literature course for French 3010 and 3040.

A minor in French requires 18 semester hours in the language (excluding French 1010), including 9 hours of 3000-and/or 4000-level (literature) courses. You may be able to obtain credit through Advanced Placement.
